CANT Z 506 B (AIRONE) Civil Registration I_LAMA 
Test pilot Mario Stoppani's aircraft of records.

The CANT Z 506 was one of the most successful and versatile Italian seaplanes. born as a civil aircraft, it served in the Ala Littoria and was then adapted (with the addition of the lower nacelle and initials B) to the military version for the Regia Aeronautica; was employed as a maritime bomber, long-range reconnaissance and rescue aircraft; role in which he also served in the Italian Air Force until 1956. A true icon of Italian aviation, a specimen of which is kept in the Historical Museum of the Italian Air Force in Vigna di Valle. For those interested in technical and historical insights, one can only refer to the vast literature on the subject, perhaps starting from the brief notions provided on the net (CANT Z 506 in Wikipedia).

The model represents the CANT Z 506 B, modified and registered with the Civil Registration I-LAMA, used by the expert and famous test driver Mario Stoppani to achieve various cruising and altitude records with different loads.
